Savings

Energy cost reduction

Solar offsets your most expensive daytime and diesel energy, cutting and stabilizing electricity costs against volatile grid and fuel prices.

Grid backup retained

Your existing grid and diesel connections stay in place, so supply is never dependent on solar alone.

How it works

Solar integrated with grid and diesel backup.

Aspan solar supplies part of your daytime load, while the grid and diesel generators remain available to support operations when needed.

  • Solar powers your daytime load

Solar energy is used first to run your operations and reduce grid and diesel consumption.

  • Grid stays connected

The grid supplies the remaining load and provides power when solar is not available.

  • Diesel backup when you need it

Your existing diesel generators remain available for outages, load shedding or peak demand. Solar also works with diesel and reduces diesel consumption by up to 70%.

Solar + Grid

Solar works alongside the grid. Solar supplies part of your daytime electricity demand, while the grid remains connected and provides the balance when needed.

  • Guaranteed discount to grid tariff
  • No capex, no opex

Solar + Diesel

Solar and diesel run together. Solar covers up to 70% of the daytime load while the generator always carries at least 30%, cutting fuel use and operating cost without ever leaving the site dependent on solar alone.

  • Diesel cost reduction
  • Backup remains available

/ FAQ

Common questions.

What is Aspan Energy?

Aspan Energy is a commercial solar provider developing solar power systems for commercial and industrial clients in West Africa, starting with Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal.

How does Solar-as-a-Service work?

Aspan develops, finances, installs, owns and operates the solar system. The customer pays for the solar energy service delivered under a long-term service agreement.

Do customers pay upfront?

No. There is no upfront capex — customers pay only for the solar electricity they use.

Who owns and maintains the solar system?

Aspan does. We own the system and handle monitoring, servicing and performance for the full term, so the site carries no maintenance burden.

How long is the service agreement?

The standard agreement term is 15 years. Aspan owns, operates and maintains the system throughout the term, while the customer pays an agreed solar service tariff.

After 15 years, the system is transferred to the client and can continue generating power for another 10–15 years with proper maintenance.

Can solar work with grid and diesel generators?

Yes. Aspan systems run in parallel with your existing grid connection and diesel generators. Solar covers part of the daytime load, while both remain available as backup when needed.

Which markets does Aspan serve?

Aspan's first-wave markets are Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, with additional West African markets under development.
